Extracadabra and Groupe Actual join forces in a €15 million strategic transaction to accelerate growth in temporary employment
Extracadabra, a fast-growing digital platform specializing in workforce solutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Groupe Actual through a €15 million investment led by Actual Ventures, its corporate venture arm. This transaction will enable Extracadabra to strengthen its leadership in digital recruitment and expand into high-demand sectors such as logistics and mass distribution.
A new step in transforming the temporary employment industry
Founded in 2015, Extracadabra initially focused on the hospitality and catering industries before diversifying into events, retail, logistics, and mass distribution. The company has developed a streamlined, tech-first platform that connects businesses with vetted professionals, offering flexible contracts across freelance, interim, and permanent roles.
The platform now supports over 6,000 active workers and collaborates with more than 3,000 businesses. With a workforce of 70 employees based in Paris and Lyon, Extracadabra generated €27 million in revenue in 2024, reflecting the growing demand for agile and compliant staffing solutions.
A partnership designed to scale
This transaction marks a new phase in Extracadabra’s development. By partnering with Groupe Actual, a major player in the interim industry, the company will be able to accelerate its geographic rollout, deepen its expertise in regulated employment, and further professionalize its offering in temporary work.
The investment includes primary capital to fund growth, as well as secondary and debt components to support the reorganization of the cap table. It also enables the exit of early-stage investors Bpifrance Tourisme, SIDE Capital, and Sowefund, who have backed the company since its early years.
Strengthening capabilities through complementary expertise
The interim industry is undergoing rapid transformation, shaped by rising expectations around digitalization and compliance. While Groupe Actual brings decades of operational know-how and national scale, Extracadabra contributes deep product and digital expertise. The two organizations share a common ambition: to modernize workforce management and simplify access to qualified talent.
Extracadabra will remain an independent entity within Groupe Actual, with a shared governance structure and a commitment to maintaining its startup agility. This independence will allow the company to keep innovating, while benefiting from the resources and strategic support of its new shareholder.
Expanding into new verticals and scaling the platform
As part of its growth plan, Extracadabra will invest in developing its presence beyond Paris and Lyon and expand into new verticals such as logistics and mass retail, where demand for flexible staffing is increasing. The company will also enhance its proprietary technology platform, with a focus on automation and AI-powered features to improve job matching, workforce planning, and overall operational efficiency.
This transaction positions Extracadabra as a leading force in the digital transformation of temporary work — helping businesses access talent more easily, and workers find meaningful, flexible job opportunities in a fast-evolving labor market.
