Following a fundraising process led by Ader Finance, Ilek has raised €6 million from Alter Equity 3P II, the successor fund of Alter Equity 3P and a pioneer in impact investing focused on social and environmental outcomes.
This marks the third impact deal closed by Ader Finance in less than twelve months.
Ilek, a French supplier of 100% renewable energy, aims to avoid the emission of one million tons of CO2 within five years through its green electricity and gas offerings.
The company is now one of the few energy suppliers in France sourcing exclusively from renewable energy producers, including wind, hydroelectric, solar, and biomethane. Its commitment to the energy transition has been recognized by NGOs such as Greenpeace and by ADEME.
This funding will enable Ilek to develop new partnerships with renewable energy producers across France, with the goal of reaching a portfolio of 2.5 TWh within five years.
The investment will also support the company’s strong growth, including the hiring of around 25 employees over the next 12 months, mainly across customer service, marketing, energy, and development teams, as well as further investment in IT and digital systems.
After more than two years of operations, Ilek has experienced rapid growth, now supplying over 50,000 meters with green energy and recording monthly growth above 10 percent.
The company has set a target of significantly reducing CO2 emissions in line with its mission to fight climate change. “We are determined to take part in one of the greatest challenges of our modern world, the fight against climate change,” said Julien Chardon. “We want to build a more fair and coherent energy model for our planet, out of respect for future generations.”
The team, composed of around 25 employees, shares this ambition and works toward accelerating the energy transition in France by offering truly renewable, transparent, and traceable energy at competitive prices, while ensuring stable and fair revenues for independent producers.
The investment was led by Alter Equity, with participation from Bpifrance, Kima Ventures, and Société Régionale de Participations Midi Pyrénées. Fanny Picard, President of Alter Equity, emphasized that Ilek’s model directly contributes to the development of renewable energy in France and aligns fully with the fund’s impact investment strategy.
