Kheops raises €12m to accelerate direct trade in grocery retail

Kheops, the French leader in direct trade between grocery stores and suppliers, has raised €12m in a Series A round from ODYSSÉE Venture, ISAI and Elaia, and continues to be backed by its historical investors Kima Ventures and AFI Ventures. The funds will help Kheops accelerate its rollout in France, strengthen its leadership and prepare its international expansion.

Direct trade: a growth driver held back by complexity

To stand out, stores increasingly rely on local products, emerging brands and innovations, chosen to match their catchment area. But every new supplier adds more operations: product listing, orders, deliveries, invoicing and payment. Central purchasing offices are designed for large volumes with a limited number of suppliers, and are not built to manage so many local relationships.

A single platform for the entire store & supplier relationship

Founded in 2021, Kheops connects suppliers and stores directly and automates their entire commercial relationship, from product listing to payment. Stores can work with many more suppliers without increasing their administrative workload. For suppliers, from local producers to large companies, it is a new sales channel: those using the platform see their revenue per store grow by 20% on average.

Strong traction in French grocery retail

Kheops is now deployed in more than 500 stores and gives access to more than 200,000 products from more than 3,000 suppliers, representing several tens of millions of euros in orders each year. In 12 months, order volume has grown fourfold and revenue threefold. The company works with all the major retail chains and recently signed a partnership with the Carrefour group.

€12m to strengthen its leadership in France and prepare for international expansion

This round will allow Kheops to accelerate its rollout in France, hire around thirty people, mainly in sales and tech, and invest in AI to help stores and suppliers know what to sell, where and in what quantity. The company will then prepare its international expansion.
