SGS acquires Sami to scale carbon and ESG management globally

Sami, France’s leading carbon and ESG management platform, has joined the SGS group through a majority acquisition. This strategic transaction enables Sami to accelerate its international development and reinforce its product investments, while preserving its operational autonomy and brand.

From French market leader to global scale

Founded in 2020, Sami has quickly established itself as a reference player in carbon accounting and ESG management. More than 1,500 companies rely on the platform to measure emissions, structure their climate strategy and deliver ESG reporting, making it the most widely used carbon management solution in France.

Sami’s rapid adoption among SMEs and mid-sized companies is driven by a differentiated all-in-one model combining robust software, decarbonization advisory and certified training programs.

A unique end-to-end carbon and ESG offering

Sami’s platform allows companies to manage the full carbon lifecycle, from emissions measurement to action planning and reporting. In addition to software capabilities, the company supports clients through expert consulting services and an ecosystem of more than 100 carbon and ESG advisory partners.

The platform is increasingly used by larger corporate clients, supported by a growing focus on data automation, AI-driven data collection and product- and project-level carbon calculations.

Accelerating international expansion alongside SGS

By joining SGS, Sami gains access to a global footprint, strong verification and assurance expertise, and local market presence in more than 115 countries. The transaction will support the international rollout of the Sami platform across several European markets from 2026 onward, in close collaboration with SGS’s local teams.

For SGS, the acquisition strengthens its Impact Now strategy by accelerating the deployment of digital solutions in carbon accounting, decarbonization and ESG services worldwide.
